Ready for the weekend and it’s only the middle of the week, what a relief. The last couple of weeks have been down to the wire getting the car ready. Mark Sims Racing has been battling with motor failures, or “parts failures”, along with minor parts breakage! Off to a bad start for 2009, I do not think so. Green Valley Speedway 3 weeks ago started out great with hot laps and qualifying over, the car felt awesome and with a fourth place starting spot it was actually turning out to be great. When the time came for my feature race, we are off gaining ground on the top 3 cars and few laps in caution comes out, OF COURSE! Oh well, greens back out with the one of the top 3 out with motor failure! We head down into turn 3 and 4 pass the second place car for his spot; things are looking great for MSR with five laps to go. We come down the backstretch all over the race leader and still gaining ground the motor looses power! Man that is the worst feeling when you have a winning car and there is a “PARTS FAILURE”! We were done for the night with two broken rods and a cracked cylinder wall! Back to the shop, motor out and the following weekend there is rain, good thing for MSR because we were still planning our next move! Saturday, March 30 rain all day no chance of racing never a good thing, Sunday looks good and the only place racing is “THE BURG”, a good testing track, SURE! New motor in, car scaled, and everything once again looking good, qualified fourth, must be my spot. We had our ****** POWERED, TEAM GRT, FORD FUSION ready to race with some minors changes, 2 laps in we break a drive flange and with a one wheel spinning on dirt, there is no chance of winning, so to the trailer we headed.  At the shop Sunday afternoon the car was washed and the parts were off waiting for new ones to come the following week, the parts arrived and we have the car ready for a big weekend at Green Valley Speedway on Friday night, And Talladega on Saturday night. We have been very lucky to pick up some new sponsors, Including  Clients Choice Recovery Tracy and Eric thanks SO much, Joe Shay with Matco tools out of Cartersville, Pete Goodwin, with Southern Insurance, and Capt. HERB with WSB 750!!  If you want to see a good show. Come watch us this weekend, as the weather looks GREAT!
Thanks Mark!
